Almost all of my furniture work falls into two categories: newly constructed pieces and antique repair and restoration.  I find both equally challenging. In new work there are the problems of design and engineering to produce a piece that looks good and works well.  Restoration  work sharpens my eye as I study the  work of craftsmen long departed.  

Additionally, I really  like to make pens--partly because I find it ironic since I have the worst handwriting in Erie County!
